Beary Pawsome is finally ready to make its entrance into the patchwork world, and I’m so excited!
This quilt pattern has been a long time coming. I designed Beary Pawsome almost three years ago after wanting a quick project to get my sewjo going. I loved the look of the Bear Paw quilt block, but I didn’t want to spend quite so much time making all those little pieces. So, in came an enlarged Bear Paw block, turned into a bold, modern quilt design.
I finished the quilt top, got the pattern done, and then it patiently waited its turn to grace the quiltyverse. And now, finally, it’s making its way into your wonderful hands!
It’s one of those quilts that comes together quickly and is enjoyable to make from start to finish.

Beary Pawsome is part of the 2027 Patchwork Calendar, bringing together 12 independent quilt designers, 12 brand-new downloadable PDF quilt patterns and one beautiful printed wall calendar filled with patchwork inspiration for the year ahead.
The 2027 Patchwork Calendar celebrates all of that creativity, with 12 designers bringing their own style, techniques and creative point of view to the collection. Finished With Hand Quilting
For my three-colour version of the Beary Pawsome quilt, I decided to finish it with hand quilting.
After all those years of waiting for this quilt to have its moment, slowing down and stitching the quilt by hand felt like the perfect way to finish it.
I’m in love with the extra layer of texture that the hand quilting adds. There’s something so special about taking the time to stitch a quilt by hand, and it makes the finished quilt feel even more personal.
I’m so happy to finally share Beary Pawsome with you and I can’t wait to see where this pattern takes you and what fabrics you choose to make it your own.
