Introducing the Starmental quilt pattern, a modern star quilt to elevate your space. Starmental was first introduced as a quilt block in 2022 as part of the Quiltmas Spectacular. I have always wanted to turn this block into a full quilt and finally, we're here. The Starmental quilt was inspired by the beautiful 'Christmas tree toppers' that adorn our trees.
Starmental quilt is a quick and easy design to put together and most of all fun. It uses a scant 1/4" seam for those strips. You can read some handy tips on sewing a scant 1/4" seam here and here.

Quilting
I love finishing off my quilts and am slowly venturing out of the straight line quilting and trying something different. When it came time to finishing off this Starmental quilt, l went with a meandering design for the background, straight lines for the star outline and the loopy loops for the inner star (l tried....haha). I do love the end result though.
I finished the quilt off with some hand binding, again something l'm starting to enjoy more of.
