It's Quiltmas time! Quiltmas Spectacular is back for 2022 and this is my 2nd year participating in this awesome event. I'm so happy to introduce to you, my Starmental quilt block!
About the block
When l was thinking about a design for this year's Quiltmas, all l could think of was ornaments. After playing around with a few designs, l landed on this beautiful 'Christmas tree topper'. All the names l wanted for the quilt block design were taken and l thought, why not combine star and ornament and hello, an original name was born; Starmental aka an ornamental star....haha!
Starmental is a quick and easy block to put together and most of all fun. It uses a scant 1/4" seam for those strips. You can read some handy tips on sewing a scant 1/4" seam here.
The block measures 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" unfinished and is traditionally pieced.
