Bow Parade Quilt Pattern - All the details

I’m so excited to finally share that the Bow Parade quilt pattern is now available! 🎀

Bow Parade was inspired by the humble classic bow — simple, sweet, and timeless. I had been playing around with the idea of a bow quilt when my little one spotted it and immediately decided this would be her new bed quilt. Her Elsa and Anna quilt? Retired on the spot. She patiently waited while I finished designing the pattern, sewing the quilt, and taking photos before it finally made its way onto her bed — and I’m happy to say, she absolutely loves it.
And just like that, Bow Parade Quilt Pattern became the newest LynsAvenue quilt pattern.
About the Bow Parade Quilt Pattern
The Bow Parade quilt pattern finishes at 62" x 70", making it the perfect throw-size quilt for a bed or for snuggling on the couch. This design features three interchangeable bow blocks, allowing you to mix and match your favourites or choose one bow style to repeat throughout the quilt.
It’s a fun and satisfying project that puts your skills to use, including:
- Flying Geese
- Half Rectangle Triangles (HRTs)
- Stitch-and-flip techniques
And once all your pieces are cut, the quilt top comes together surprisingly quickly.

Fabric Requirements and Options
One of the things I love most about the Bow Parade quilt pattern is how versatile it is when it comes to fabric choices.
You can:
- Use two colours for the bows with a background fabric (like the cover quilt), or
- Go full scrappy, making each bow a different colour
This makes it a great pattern for using stash fabrics or creating something completely unique.

The Cover Quilt
Let’s talk about the cover quilt! Lately, I’ve been drawn to softer, more subtle colour palettes, and I really wanted this quilt to feel light and calm. Once I mocked up these colours, I couldn’t get them out of my mind — and when my little one said she wanted the quilt in those exact colours, that sealed the deal.

For the quilting, I chose a simple crosshatch design, which adds a beautiful texture while letting the bows shine. This quilt is just as lovely to snuggle under as it is to look at.
Even my teen, who usually avoids anything pink, has asked for one just like it. I’m taking that as a big compliment!

Finishing Details
I’ve been falling more and more in love with slow stitching lately. For this quilt, I opted for hand binding, and I love how it turned out. I used Aurifil thread and wool batting, which gives the quilt such a soft, cozy feel. It’s those final touches that really bring a quilt to life. Aurifil threads, 50wt, helped me bring this quilt to life, from the piecing to quilting and finally binding.

I can’t wait to see the colour combinations you choose and how you make this pattern your own.
